Having enough wheel well clearance is a common issue when trying to build a low center of gravity Jeep Wrangler TJ or LJ Unlimited. TNT originally solved this dilemma with our present offering of Standard Full Replacement Tube Fenders and HyLine Full Replacement Tube Fenders which open up the wheel well an additional 2.5 inch rearward. Yet, as suspensions keep getting shorter and tires bigger this additional clearance quickly gets used up. TNT has raised the bar once again with our front steering stretch kit. By rotating your steering box our steering stretch kit has the ability to provide you with up to an additional 3 inch of clearance and wheelbase (Our Stretch Long Arms & Longer Driveshaft Required)
Steering Stretch Kit Includes:
- Drivers side inner and outer frame plates
- Passengers side inner and outer frame plates
- Replacement crossmember tube
- Replacement grill mount
- (4) Crush sleeves
- (2) Steering shaft u-joints
- (1) Heim joint
- (1) 4 inch D-rod
- (1) Frame bracket (connects to steering) shaft
Stage 1 kit includes all of the basic kit components.
This kit is made for the 4 bolt Steering box (found in 91-95 YJ or after market source) but is compatible with the older 3 bolt boxes from 97-02 TJ. You will not have the 4th mount. Will not work with 03-06 Mercedes Box. Please call for the appropriate pieces for the mercedes box.
Requires the use of OTK or Crossover steering. Reuses stock pitman arm. Trackbar frame mount will need to be moved forward so replacement mount is required (sold separately). Some aftermarket sway bars may require replacement or modification of crossmember bushings.
Longer front control arms & Longer front Driveshaft required to complete a front stretch.
Steering Input shaft modifications required
Requires welding for installation. We strongly recommend using a certified welder for any welding tasks
Stretch Kit would require our Long Arm Upgrade with Stretch Y Link Arms
